06/29/09: Mallapalooza: UPDATE

It seems there was a miscommunication between Senshi-Con and Bosco's; we will not have a spot on the fashion show run way. However, we will have a table advertising Senshi-Con 2010 outside of Bosco's and we will be allowed to sell merchandise inside Bosco's.

We sincerely apologize for this misinformation. We still need people willing to staff our table, and cosplay is, as always, welcomed! If you would like to volunteer to staff our table at August 1st's Mallapalooza, please contact April Hayes at fundraising@senshicon.org.

Again, we hope to see a lot of faces there!

06/21/09: Mallapalooza: August 1st

Dimond Center is having a mallapalooza August 1st, and Bosco's has invited Senshi-Con to join in on the fun! Senshi-Con will have a booth right outside of Bosco's, and will be selling merchandise and other goodies inside the store. We have also been given a spot in the fashion show! Cosplayers from all around the state are invited to take part in the fashion show to show off their wonderful costumes! If you would like to participate, either as a staffer at our booth or a cosplayer on the run way, please get in contact with fundraising director April Hayes at fundraising@senshicon.org.

She will need to see your cosplay in person before July 23rd if you want to participate.

Hope to see you there!

06/15/09: Second Car Wash Event!

The UAA Anime Club and Pet Emergency Treatment Inc. are once again proud to announce a joint car-and-pet wash, being held June 27th (Saturday!) from 10:00am - 4:00pm. For a suggested donation of just $10, your car and your furry friend can once again receive a spring cleaning, come away sparkling (or barking!), and help support the promotion of arts & culture, as well as help save an animal's life through Pet Emergency Treatment's Roscoe Fund.

The Roscoe Fund is a non-profit charity fund that helps less-fortunate animals receive life-saving treatment they might not otherwise receive due to financial constraints.

The UAA Anime Club, also a non-profit program, helps promote East-Asian popular culture and art awareness through their annual event, Senshi-Con.

    When: June 27th, 10:00am - 4:00pm

Where: Pet Emergency Treatment (2320 E. Dowling, in the Southwest corner of Lake Otis and Dowling)

05/31/09: Cosplay Workshop Event Cancelled

Senshi-Con wants to apologize for any inconvenience caused by cancelling the Cosplay Workshop - Makeup event. Due to a lack of efficient volunteers and interest, we were unable to hold the event. However, we hope to reschedule this workshop at a later, more accommodating date. Thank you for your understanding!

05/19/09 Cosplay Workshop - Makeup 101!

A great cosplay isn't just about sporting accurate threads. To truly go above and beyond in your cosplay, you must have the accurate face! While big, sparkling eyes may be unattainable here in the real world, Senshi-Con is proud to bring to you the first installment of a workshop all about cosplay makeup, and how to keep your face in shape in (and out!) of costume! Under the direction of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant April Hayes, your cosplay will turn from Expendable Filler Character #64 to MAIN CHARACTER!

    When: May 29th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Where: Mary Kay Dream Center, Suite 103, 1205 E International Airport Rd.

How much: $15 per person (pricey, but worth every yen!)

Here is a map to guide you on your way to our fund raising event!

    Hope to see you there!
