The Senshi-Con started back in 2005 as a collaboration with multiple high school anime and video game clubs, held in the West High cafeteria after school on March 4th, 2005.  When attendance soared over 300 people coming as far as 50 miles away from Wasilla, we decided that we had to do it again!

Since then, the founding members formed the Anime Club of the University of Alaska Anchorage and have held the convention at the college every year.  Attendance has grown from 300 to 1,000 people for the single day event, with visitors coming from Washington, California and more.  We try our best to show off any Alaskan anime and music talents, but there are also name guests like Caitlin Glass [famed voice actress of Winry from Full Metal Alchemist] who come and talk with audiences.

Due to its location, Senshicon has a different feel compared to the rest of the United States: the lines are shorter, a lot of time is invested in decoration, and we even have an Anime CafĂ©, where fans are served their favourite dishes in a sit-down atmosphere.   With local talent, music, vendors, games, contests and more, the staff of Senshi-Con strive to bring the fun-filled anime convention experience every year to the last frontier.
